Thinking about an Application

The following are the areas that we will look at in any application:

1. NEED:

  • Please describe the need for the work you are proposing?

  • How was it identified?

  • Is it meeting a gap in provision?

  • How does it fit with other providers?

  • What are the needs of the people you want to serve?

  • Who are they?

  • Where are they?

  • How many are they?

  • What makes them a group?

2. THE IDEA:

Please give details of the project / work itself

  • What will it involve?

  • Who will deliver it?

  • Who will benefit?

  • How will people access it?

  • How often will people access it?

  • Will it become obsolete? Is it dependent on technology?

3. THE STRATEGY TO ACHIEVE IMPACT

  • Where does this fit in your organisations strategy?

  • What actual difference do you aim to make through your work?

  • What are you going to measure?

  • Describe the item you are measuring.

  • Projected numbers of each outcome?

  • How long to achieve the outcome?

  • What is success?

  • What plans and processes do you have in place to monitor and evaluate your work?

  • The budget – give details of how you’ve costed the work

  • Is other funding in place / projected?

4. THE ORGANISATIONAL CAPACITY

  • What experience do you/ your staff have in this area?

  • Who is on your Board? Their experience in this area?

  • What Governance will be used to oversee this work?

  • What is you staff structure?
